My Yoga Journey

I am always fascinated to learn new skills and trying new activities. Yoga was one of my first college courses, and years later, I went online to find a yoga studio that was close and had early classes. Eager to start, I bought a few classes to try it out because not all yoga studios are the same, and one must test the waters especially since I hadn't done it for a few years. I have not left that yoga studio since, though I have taken breaks. I love this community, I wish I had found it sooner. The ladies and guys are mostly in their forties and fifties, but boy can they down face dog. Throughout my time at this studio, I have noticed the improvement in my own body. I have been able to hold some of the poses more than a few breaths. I see the beauty of how flexible I have gotten.

It is like a new refreshed me comes out of every class. The drive to and from are pretty relaxing too. Most people are not awake that early when I'm out the door heading to class, which is a plus for me. Traffic is perfect, and the group is small.

The instructor is the sweetest person I have met in a very long time. This lady is the complete yogi package. To me, she is an example of people who are so past societies bull, judgment and who live an authentic life which, are the best people to surround your self. She is in her 60's, and after many years in the corporate world, she decided to buy and run a yoga studio, wow talk about taking a leap and following your dreams.

My lack of focus has seriously minimized with yoga, which has close to eliminating this problem in my life. I wish I could have found this particular studio years ago, that would have genuinely been a game changer in my life.

I can't stop raving about these classes, the people, and the overall energy. While I was going through heartbreak aside from being pregnant, I found myself doing the 200-hour yoga teacher training. I found so much support, growth, and openness when I needed it the most.

If you try yoga, please commit more than a class. Some may say it is not for them but remember it is not about being great; it is more about learning about yourself and your own physical and mental limitations. Yoga meets you where you are.
